UTS CCW

Completed in September 2014, Normoyle Engineering worked with Lend Lease for 2 years on the UTS Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building. Our work involved the structural steel package, aluminium works, and the building centrepiece- the Oval Room, comprising of 150 tonnes of glue laminated timber. Normoyle’s package for the Oval Room included all timber works, fit out, ceiling, flooring, structural steel and supports, external trims and windows. The extremely diverse nature of this project is the perfect example to explain our ability to deliver a huge range of works, irrespective of material or general trade association- our specialty is large scale custom works.

This project further showcases our ability to resolve extremely difficult installation methodologies- the oval room was built by firstly constructing a ceiling fixed gantry crane which was dismantled post completion.

Stair K- working with Arup we successfully installed the largest timber/concrete composite staircase in the world.

Normoyle Engineering carried out the internal fit out works including the winged structures, timber ceilings, doors, acoustics, bulkheads and framing.

Design and certified by Normoyle Engineering, we successfully installed the largest IGU window ever made in Australia.
